Brian Jamieson

BRIAN JAMIESON is one of Scottish music's most relentlessly hard- working artists. For almost 20 years he has always seemed to find new and fresh ideas. He started at the tender age of 14, working on songs in his brother-in-law’s home studio whom was always keen to let Brian on the mic to do a wee rap now and again. Inspired by artists like PUBLIC ENEMY / ICE CUBE / KRS ONE / CYPRESS HILL his heart was set on him becoming a rapper after seeing MAJOR THREAT opening for GUNSHOT at the Cathouse in Glasgow. Rapping with a Scottish accent became a certainty whilst watching legendary act POWER MOVE rip up the same venue a few months later with their slow and funky take on HIP HOP with a Glasgow slang.

There was an open mic that night and Brian decided he was gonna jump up and rhyme in his native tongue for the 1st time. It was a pivotal night as most of the guys at the open mic have become lifelong friends and musical collaborators.

Brian's 1st release was the cassette EXPECT THE UNEXPECTED in 1996 and since then he has produced a never ending slew of innovative material. Brian is best known as the man behind legendary Scottish HIP HOP act DAMAGED GOODZ but has also released HEAVY METAL,FOLK and PUNK records with SKELETON VERSE,CROFT NO5 and THE PARADOX, as well as dipping his toes in "Horrorcore" with DEF CONCERTO, and moving into bizarre Monty Pythonesque territory with latest band THE DANGER CHOKES.
